Message from the Bashaw Chamber of Commerce Summer 2011

Greetings from the Bashaw and District Chamber of Commerce.

We are a volunteer organization consisting of local business people and community groups with a vision of improving business and trade in the local area.  This involves many members committing personal time and/or resources to organize events throughout the year.  Some of the planned events are fundraisers which, not only help to continue to provide community events but also keep the Chamber of Commerce a viable organization.

This has been a very busy 2011 in planning the Town of Bashaw 100th Birthday Celebrations which involves many individuals and organizations including the Chamber of Commerce.  The Homecoming weekend will be held August 19-21 with many activities planned; giving old friends and neighbors a chance to share stories and history of the Town.  We invite you to visit our website www.enjoybashaw.com for details and all the information we have to offer.

October 1, 2011 we will conclude our centennial celebrations by hosting a RCMP Centennial Gala Ball.

Bashaw hosts many annual events: the Festival of Stars on the May long weekend, Bashaw Rodeo takes place the second weekend of June, our annual bunnock tournament in July, we also host annual ball tournaments, weekly farmers market, live theatre presentations just to mention a few.

A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers that provide the effort and enthusiasm to continue these activities. Volunteers are the most valuable resource available and sometimes go unrecognized.

General Meetings are held 7:00 pm on the 4th Monday of the Month at the Tourism Building in Heritage Park at 5020 -52 Street (by the Curling Rink)-open to all members.

On behalf of the 2011 Executive.

Sincerely,

Jason Olson
President
