Animal Licenses

Any resident who owns a cat or dog (6 weeks or older) are required to license their animal annually.  Once the animal is registered with the Town of Bashaw, the  owner is provided a metal license tag to be placed on the collar of their pet.  If at any time during the year, the tag is lost, replacement tags can be purchased at the Town Office.  If you are new to Town, or acquire a new pet within the year, you are required to license your pet within two weeks.

License renewals are annual.

They must be purchased in the month of January every year regardless of when you previously acquired your pet tag.

Did you know:

  • that if your pet is picked up for running at large, injured, etc. we have no means of tracking the owner unless the animal is wearing a current tag?
  • that the penalty for failure to obtain a license is guilty of an offence and subject to a fine and license fees double according to the gender of the pet?

To register your animal, please fill out the Animal License Application Form and bring completed form to the Town Office.  If you have more than one pet, please fill out ONE form for EACH pet.
